>>36884731>What is being ruined? All sense of freedom and exploration the games once had. The earlier entries in the series had issues, no one can deny that, but instead of improving these aspects, masuda decided it was better to just do away with them because he has an irrational fear of smartphones. Look at all the games since BW. Claustrophobia triggering regions, script being relentlessly thrown down your throat. Pokemon games were never expansive, but little as they were they were about YOUR adventure in that world. You could do things at your own pace, explore, find out how things work. Now? A series of hallways you get stuck in and you can only go from A to B, and only by means of having some character forced upon you. Just count how many times you can reach a city and go straight to the gym in later games. Very few. First, you need to do all that stuff, regardless of whether you care or not. You're hardly the protagonist any more, but a convenient tool the other characters can use for their script instead. Everything else has been watered down or outright removed.
>>36884735Whether you like it or not, "shitflinging" is how you get things done in these cases. Want to be a huge international company? Then your products have to meet certain standards. If they don't, it is only correct to call them on on that. Otherwise, you're just fed shit while you sit and happily accept it.
>don't buy the games thenIrrelevant and dangerous thought. These games are targeted at children. Children will play it. Do you want to live in a world where children are regarded as idiotic, never challenged or stimulated? Where they are taught that they don't ever need to make an effort to achieve things? Where they are kept dumb and ignorant so it's easier to sell them garbage? I certainly don't.

Pokemon is not the exception, but it's not too late
