Will we ever get anyone bat pokemon? Surprised we don't have a dark/flying bat yet based on vampires maybe a dark/psychic bat? Idk

nothing about the Crobat line suggests they should be poison-type. They were clearly meant to be Dark-types but debuted before the Dark-type existed. They could've made Zu- and Golbat Poison and made them evolve into the Dark-type Crobat but didn't. They could've just forgone including the Zubat line and put in one of the other hundred pokemon designs they had but also didn't.

They couldve corrected this by giving Crobat a Dark-type mega but still didn't. I don't see why they're afraid to retcon shit. It's this kind of dumb attitude that forces stupid shit like Icy Rock and Mossy Rock to be in every game.

I really think they need to make regional bats a thing alongside the usual regional birds and rodents. I love the Zubat line but it's getting old seeing them constantly in almost every single game.

It really is. Crobat doesn't have the offensive stats people seem to think it does, but it does great as a support Pokemon. Infiltrator, Toxic, Super Fang, Roost, Taunt, high speed, great set of resistances.
90 Attack is garbage and unless you're running Flyinium or some memey Curse+White Herb Acrobatics, Crobat has no offensive presence

Yeah, same with Dark/Bug or Ghost/Bug spider. I made pic related age ago though cuz I wanna see it.

there's nothing in their design that indicates they should be dark types. They live in caves. Dark ≠ literal darkness, it means Evil.

Yeah I know, just you can create Pokemon evil if you want, it's looks doesn't need to support Dark type. The most evil things I found:

Cool, I guess that's why Umbreon and Absol are dark-types/

The only rule GF uses is "is this pokemon kind of an asshole? if so, it is a candidate for Dark-type". That's it. That's literally it. That doesn't even describe the other Dark-types like Inkay and Mightyena.

Dark types are always on the scale from trickster, cheater to merciless brutal
Umbreon prefers moonlight and don't confuse Absol with darkness, it's not really evil either but at least forewans evil

Umbreon has poison sweat, if anything it should be Poison. If preferring night-time is all you need to be Dark then Noctowl and Midnight Lycanroc should be Dark too
