Actually, yes. The movie isn't done obviously, but it has enough to get the story across to the audience, which is what's important. They gauge the responses and tweak the film appropriately.

There's usually test screenings for movies in a relatively early stage just to see the audience reaction and ask for their opinions on it.
The Simpsons movie had allegedly 5 to 10 different versions because the audience kept wanting changes made to it.
