It's definitely Greninja for a bunch of different reasons.
For one, he helped me get back into Pokemon despite not playing since Ruby. I never had a DS to play Gen IV or V, but by then i was just going through my "Pokemon is Old News" phase, so i didn't pay much mind to it. I finished college by the time X/Y was announced and i was moderately intrigued by the mainline series finally going 3D, but still hesitant because i was already on the mentality that all new pokemon looked like shit, so i continued avoiding it. One day i was taking care of a nephew of mine and he was playing Y version, i believe. So i sat with the little dude and watched him play for a while. He popped Greninja into Pokemon Amie and i fell in love, straight out telling him that one looked awesome. He told me it was his favorite too. I later found out that it was a starter. Watching the little dude play for some 15 minutes was enough to make me kinda want the game, so i went ahead and bought Y the next week.
I pretty much only visited /v/, /lit/ and /g/, so buying the game made me visit /vp/ for the first time since its inception. I think i came at the right time because those first two years were great, among the best time i've had in 4chan overall. Lots of online shit, friend safaris, trades, funny shitposting and lots of hype made it worthwhile. Shame that it went to complete shit right after, but it was good while it lasted.
The final reason is that not only did he make me jump back into Pokemon despite hating on it for a while, but he also made me overcome my disdain for frogs and toads. His design was so strong and perfectly balanced that i was willing to overcome my irks about the species because of how great it looked. I still think the Tongue Scarf is the single best and most creative thematic design execution in pokemon history. It's just an all around winner in every regard.
