Is anyone else excited for LGPE's release just to get over the hump?

The day after release marks the official beginning of gen 8 hype season.

I'm not like super hype, but even though it's low-effort It'll probably still be enjoyable "enough" to get over the hump.

I hate supporting it, but me avoiding this game isn't exactly going to stop the ridiculous revenue it is going to make from GO normies and the wave of children getting it for xmas. I'd pirate it but I'm pretty lazy and don't really wanna brick my switch.

You could just play non Pokemon games if you really don't want to support it. Or replay old Pokemon games. Or even wait just a couple months until you can get a used copy.

Well it wont, do the math dumb dumb. Even if we who “know better” all don’t support it, the loss is insignificant. Look at how many go players there are, we are fucking nothing against that. Might as well just enjoy it for what it is instead of being salty and pretending like we can stip the inevitable

The reason there are so many Go players is because it's free and on a system they already own, I wouldn't take that as ultra representative of how LGPE will sell

I honestly think there are more people playing Pokémon on emulators right now than there are playing Go.

I'm 18 in high school and normalfags take out their phones to play Emerald/FRLG literally all the time.

I don't get why they even made LGPE in the first place. You could've taken the year off like you did in 2015. Granted LGPE looks low effort to begin with but aren't they working on a new IP as well?

I'm not even sure if I'm excited for gen 8 at this point after XY, SM and LGPE. I'm not going to whine, but I don't like the design philosophies GF has been following, so I only have reasons to think gen 8 won't be for me either. However, I am looking forward to the hype season a little bit. The speculation and discoveries are always fun. Gen 8's hype season will be a wild ride for sure, too, with all that is been going on
