It's the weaboo's fault to keep insisting in calling the rival Green when official localizations kept calling him Blue. And this kept happening even after FRLG got released and even when some people were using "Leaf". She never had a real name until now.
No one is stupid enough to deny that Blue is her canon name in Japan, but that's in Japan. If all of us had no issues and embraced the localization names of all the Pokemon and the human characters, then keeping the west naming of the three Kanto characters should be any problem. Plus naming her Green keep the color consistency Red-Green-Blue intact.
Red-Green and "Leaf" simply disrupts that. It makes her look like an outsider. It could be worse.
