As someone who started with gen 1 and played every single mainline game, I'll say that no Abilities and held items is a disappointment. I've got that shit preordered though. I'm down with Kanto and Pokémon in general, and GF doesn't always make good decisions. Sometimes they do, and I'm willing to test the waters unlike all you entitled pussies who have nothing to do but shitpost on a copycat website's Pokémon-specific board complaining about a game that you will eventually buy but will never admit to buying. This shit is fucking as retarded as genwars and starterwars.

ORAS had a post game story, new pokemon appearing, new areas to explore, like 12 legendaries to catch and the battle chateau. I know it’s not an amazing post game by any means, but don’t put it on the same level as LGPE, which only has gym leader rematches and master trainers.

I have started with Red & Blue as well and Let's Go looks like hot garbage. One has to be really blinded by nostalgia to even consider getting it, let alone preordering and defending it. Going back to, very dated at this point, FRLG is a much better option for revisiting Kanto.
You don't throw money on a company that is clearly playing it super safe and expects to be praised for mediocrity.
