I've never been into the other ones because I thought the ds/3ds was gay. Bought a switch recently and decided might as well try the main games for once. What am I in for?

Different mechanics from the rest of the series. This is a terrible first game, other Pokémon games treat you as if you've never played one anyway.

This more of a game aimed towards the casual market. It's a little souped down from regular Pokemon mechanics, but gen 8 will make up for the hardcore fans.

I wish you would have done some research before buying though.

Clefairy and Jigglypuff lines are now called "Fairy" types

Use them to kill Dragons and Fighting types, but they die easy to Poison-types now, which would be about half of Kanto
