All this detective pikachu stuff has gotten me thinking about how pokemon existing in real life would really be like
>trainers require a Trainer licence
>non trainers can own pokemon but they must register thier use case for the pokemon (could be as pets,, farm animals, or labor like construction or similar)
>need to register each Pokemon they catch (like pets)
>registrations need to be updated on a yearly basis or when the pokemon evolves
>"High risk" Pokemon (charizard etc) require a special licence for handling, probably have a lot of restrictions for taking them out in public spaces
>battles can only take place in sanctioned arenas, Gyms, or large open areas away from populated areas and require a licensed referee.
>Battles that do not take place in these areas are illegal (underground fight clubs ect)
>Pokemon centers are not free but are likely low cost as registration fees could probably pay for most light treatments
I could see pokemon being used in a wide range of jobs as well. Fire fighters would easily benefit from having a ton of blastoise on thier team.
