Veteran players don't want it because of all the cut content, they're literally banking on normies not knowing how barebones they really are. The target audience isn't kids, it's normie go players who haven't touched the main series since gen 1. i know a guy who's played up to gen 3 who wants it and i don't even think the poor sap realizes there's only the original 151

Half the fanbase either hates it utterly, or are cum slurping idiots who will eat literally anything GF shits out.

Then there's the normalfags, which will either be sold on the gameplay or hate it, which frankly can go either way.

It's a barebones remake of Yellow but with wild battles replaced with GO style catching. People resent it for being full price yet having less content then Fr/Lg. They also listened to people who demanded gen 1 mons only so you can't even evolve Golbat.

If this were a Pokemon Snap remake with maybe some Go-like, I can almost guarantee there wouldn't be anywhere near the same amount of hate and quite a few people would be genuinely hyped, myself included.
