The reason to hate arvalis isn't that he did the thing literally anyone doing a "realistic" pokemon movie would do.
It's that he makes Magnemite into a flying crab and Sycther into a dragon because to him that "makes more sense". None of that is here in the movie thank god.

Draco's model is very hit or miss and really depends on the scene. Like the closeup here is decent, but then the shot in the water is awful. I'm not sure if Draco had a model they later enhanced with CGI for certain shots because I haven't watched this movie in over a decade but I would wager they did as usually enhancing physical props is the key to making the effect look good. That's why most of the CGI in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi looked so good. Because they were props later enhanced.

This results in a lot of non-organic Pokemon being bats, bugs or other weird shit.
