I preferred her art style over the person doing it now.

Also I feel like PokeSpe got worse as the games became more story focused. I could count on PokeSpe to fill in a lot of gaps and feel like true story versions of the game.
But now, the game kinda does that by itself and it just feels like I’m reading promotional material, except years after the game came out.
That being said DP was the last good arc imo.

At this point would the best thing be to just make original stories starring old cast members? Sorta like what they did with Yellow and FRLG?

Also while I haven’t read as much of the new stuff it seems like there’s been some power creep where a protag wins because they’re the best and they’re the best because they just are. I remember the okd stories being pretty clever about the trainers outsmarting people. But like I said I haven’t kept up much.

They’re most likely on a tight schedule trying to get the chapters out and finish the story before the next generation is out so writing a new story is probably not in the cards. That’s another thing, the games feel like they’re coming out way too fast and the manga simply can’t keep up.

Well we’ve gone from having a game roughly every two years to annual releases since 2012, with only 2015 being an exception. They’re churning them out now which probably has a lot to do with how the latest games have been.

It is less the number of releases and more the dirth of sequential Yellow-styled third games. Gen 4 had one game more than 5-7, but Platinun stuff could just be rolled in, so much so that Platina wasn't named until it was officially announced. Gen 5 having a sequel and 6 having remakes for second games removes that buffer. Gen 2 as well.

I liked XY a bit, but I mostly agree. Didn't like the characters in BW or SM nearly as much as all the ones before them, and remake/sequel chapters generally aren't great anyway.
