Aravlis actual old Pokemon redesigns were these shitty strange versions like Magnemite being a crab for some reason, and the movie designs are just the actual designs with realistic textures. Japs clearly only wanted that. Don't pretend that Gamefreak isn't watching over this movie with a iron fist and approving or rejecting anything they can.
