So is this dead now? Been logging in daily just to get my coins and Pokemon visiting the camp, has now purchased everything available for the in-game currency with more to spare and no update or event has happened during that time span.

Sadly, most of the Pokemon mobile games that aren't GO only get thrown out and then never really get any new content.
As someone that completed Magikarkp Jump without spending any money on it, I can feel your pain.
