Is Mareanie usable in a regular playthrough or are you better off using Pokemon with higher offensive stats when playing the main game?

I used one and it was fine. You might want to get a merciless one so it can do a bit more damage

Absolutely. If you're talking about using stall tactics then yes but it'll be really slow.

Only trouble is actually finding one. They're not crazy rare, but they're still a bit trickier than just walking around for five minutes. I used one and it was lots of fun though.

I used one I Sun and it carried its own weight pretty well, no Exp. Share involved. Once it hit like Lvl. 45 I started using it far less but as kind of a trump card if the rest of my team couldn't deal with an opponent.

Mareanie/Toxapex in-game is going to be a PITA to attain, and it's a bit too gimmicky – again, in-game – to be an effective sweeper.

You'd honestly probably have more fun using a Corsola instead of going through the entire SOS chain to get a Mareanie.

Corsola's attack stats are just as shitty as Mareanie's. At least Mareanie has really good defenses as well as being able to do decent poison-boosted damage.

I don't get the "hard to catch" thing, it takes like 10 minutes at most unless you have terrible luck.
