Judging by the synopsis, and the bits we've seen from the trailer, it'll likely follow the overall plot of the game, but the inbetween cases will be different. Perhaps with a complete focus on the main case.

This. I got to the part where you find some vials in a lab after a few months of forcing myself through it. I do want to finish it but more just to complete the game and less because it’s fun. For a kid the handholdy stuff might not get in the way and they might have more fun bot for anyone over like... 10-12 it’s way too easy.
