Incineroar probably got at least half of these BECAUSE Sakurai picked Incineroar. If he picked, say, Primarina, Golisopod or Lycanroc-Midnight, things would be far more different and Lycanroc-Dusk might not even existed if he picked Nightdog (or Gladion ends up with Dusk instead of Midnight)

Lucario's first appearence was in PMD Red/Blue, then he gets a movie before his game comes out, then he has a special unique typing and a signature move, THEN he gets in Smash. This is probably just a coincidence. Gamefreak made a ton of Pokémon in gen 7 that were supposed to be good in doubles. All the stuff that makes Incin good is that type of stuff you would expect a mon like that to have.

That's exactly what I thought would happen. Sakurai saw potential in the cat to be something unique for Smash. He wasn't forced into anything. A lot of care went into Incineroar. They went all out with him and his moveset.

I love how people act like it's some masterpiece of design against Incineroar when it literally has a separate mouth from its beak. But I notice a lot of people act like a lot of inexcusable stuff in other mons' designs are suddenly fine with it comes to arguing against Incineroar. Pretty sad.

Touche, but those throws are basic in form, Pichu holding onto Ridley's shins then rolling him, zapping him, headbutting him, etc. Wrestler throws are more intricate and look a lot sillier depending on the characters involved. Imagine Pichu trying to giant throw or Argentine backbreaker rack Bowser.

Let's be honest, Sakurai is an extremely meticulous developer who values game play over anything and hates sequels (that's why he quit Kirby development iirc, Smash doesn't bother him and in fact loves it because it gave him the opportunityto experiment a lot with many franchises and meet a lot of people). He probably thinks the pokemon model of releeasing improved versions or sequels so soon is shit and he probably thinks gen 6 and 7 are shit due to all cutscenes and hand holding.
He probably only ever bothered with the anime.
