What went wrong, bros?
Two years ago we were here, hoping that it wouldn't be real. Alas, the datamine confirmed it. Then, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Everything pointed to Decidueye, Mimikyu and Lycanroc being the most shilled Pokemon for Gen 7, all fantastic Pokemon with creative and fun designs, proven only again by Decidueyes inclusion in Pokken. One of them for sure will make it into Smash... but then came Veggieburger and Hitagi. Saying that the Pokemon wouldn't be one of those. Who else could it have been, Golisopod, Tsareena, Rowlet? We all knew Incineroar was widely negatively received. It was hated, even by Gamefreak. Veggieburger finally ridiculed himself, with saying it's Incineroar and that Minecraft would be represented in Smash. I mean, nothing that terrible would ever end up being real, right? But then, two men started it all. Masuda and Sakurai. They started pushing this thing, in a desperate attempt to make it relevant. As seen by the general public, it didn't work out. Incineroar was hated widely for being picked for Smash over Decidueye and Lycanroc. But it didn't stop them. Now, I want you to reconsider again, that we live in a time where Incineroar and Minecraft Steve are actual characters in Smash. How did it all go so wrong? How did a Pokemon so mocked, hated and actively being called fake make it?
