The reason you have to walk back is to learn about ledges/shortcuts and how they work for new players. If you already know this you can skip the unecessary walk.

You can already do that. Want to progress the story? Walk around the Pokemon. Want to capture Pokemon? Walk into them

No, cut walking out all together. It's just filler. There should just be an option to continue the story and generating a random pokemon for you to capture based on your current story progression.

You're right Pokemon should just be a walking simulator and distance is based on the actual distance between cities in Japan. Pokemon should also have their encounter rate rediced by 98% to be more accurate. Pokemon should also die permanently and you also need hunger, thirst, and sleep bars. You need a full time job to pay for everything in addition to going to a Pokemon University for 4 years before you can become a licensed trainer. Also no in-game movement your trainer movement is based on a pedometer irl

There used to be a bot on IRC that was a full fledged pokemon game. Of course it was all text based, but man I had a ton of fun playing it back in the day. Had PVP battles and gym leaders and stuff. Good memories

Yeah and no one wants Pokemon to be randomly generated as you read a VN like you were saying. I'm throwing the ridiculousness of what you said right back in your face. No one here is saying anything is tedious idiot. The (OPTIONAL) teleport is there for repeat players who just want to start catching Pokemon, which is what the entire series is about. It's also there to guide retarded new players who wouldn't expect to be backtracking 10 seconds into the game and wonder why they're stuck.
Again you are bitching and moaning about a completely optional 60 second feature that's obviously not intended for you.
