Because burger translators are retarded. The names were Japanese onomatopoeic words which obviously don't have any english equivalent words, so they grabbed the idiot ball and ran with kiddy-sounding names (the german names for example are fine). Another case of dumbass muricans thinking they know better than the creators (just like they changed "Hop" to 'Splash' and fucked up all the rabbit pokémon).

Why do the names have to be retarded like this?

I get that the partner pokemon need coverage moves to make them not completely useless, but WHY are the move names so fucking stupid?

The rest of those moves describe, you know, an action. They might be hilariously childish, but at least they’re actually describing the technique.

I actually don't mind most of the names since they were going for a theme with the naming conventions, but Buzzy Buzz and Baddy Bad strike me as greviously low-effort. It's like trying to rhyme a word with itself. Why not at least use a different second word? Baddy Blast, Buzzy Burst. There ya go. Much less awful and still retain the convention. Treehouse staff suck.
