Also, no spinoff in the history of the franchise's existence aside from mobileshit has ever sold to a successful enough degree that GameFreak and The Pokemon Company still deem them worthwhile risks.
This could very well make or break the ultimate fate of spinoffs and non-core games as a whole outside of mobile, but we all know it's going to not only sell satisfactorily, but it's also going to sell beyond expectations and thus confirm "Masuda was right, we gotta follow his legacy/get him to come out of retirement/etc!" to GameFreak.
