People only called her Leaf because we had no "official" name for her even though she was based off of the girl in the gen 1 artwork and her manga adaptation was named Green. Since her name is Green in the Let's Go names there's no denying that's supposed to be her name.

At least they're not the ones who will actively look up the Japanese names and will actively refer to Ash as "Satoshi" and Misty as "Kasumi". This is the only place I have to say Leaf and Blue Oak so that people don't think I'm referring to the other character.

That's what I mean. I know she's Green. You know she's Green. THEY know she's Green, but they'll still be obnoxious cunts and say her name is Blue, anyway. Calling her Leaf is just taking the 'safe' option. It ties into her actual name (Leaf GREEN), there was in-game data to support it, and japan seems to use the name too, so there's that too.

None of this confusion would happen if they had just given her an RL name like Sally or something.

Her localized name is now canonically Green but she wears blue all the time because her name is Blue in Japan. It's irritating.

Why don't they just do what they did years ago and give them clothing that isn't a reference to their name? Gen 1 Blue had a blue shirt, and in gen 4 he had clothes that didn't refer to either color. Why are they doing this now when they know fully well that Japan is the only place to officially call them that?
