Don't forget, once the Mew is in that pokeball item is completely fucking useless because it works on only 1 game, 1 file, so if you erase your game after using it, you will not get another Mew out of it.

You are effectively paying for one of those free USUM 2018 codes they've been giving out all year

Injecting wouldn't even be worth it. The save file is tied to the console so in order to inject you would need to run unauthorized software on your switch which could get your Nintendo account completely banned. Why would you give up online play and downloading new games just for one shitty pokemon in a shitty game?

It's shitty to force people to wait or pay, but the game has the other standard mystery gift options in place. There will be a mew event sooner or later, especially considering there's not really any other special mons to distribute other than it, and Meltan/Melmetal.
