Electrike and Manectric are 2 mono-type Electric dog-like mons introduced after the 2 Electric dog-like mons Jolteon and Raikou.

Electric suffers from that. Only electric mons worth using are Raichu, Zapdos, Magnezone, Rotom, Tapu Koko, and Zeraora. Rest are all outclassed by these Pokemon.

There were barely any Electrics in Hoenn though that weren't old mons. Only Plusle and Minun were new, so they had to add another Electric line. It's bland, but it was necessary for Hoenn's game design to have another Electric.
