I'm not worried about LGPE and here's why.
All the complaints, while valid, aren't necessarily based on things that indicate that the game wont be good, more so that they are breaking tradition.
Yeah. The game could suck. These new features could be awful and ruin the game, but I think that will be depending on how its implemented.
>No Wild Battles
Ditching random encounter battles and working on making trainer battles better would definitely be an improvement. Lets be honest, random encounters were only tedious, never hard. So if our only battles happen with other trainers, this could make those experiences better and make the game more interesting.
>Only original 151
I lost count of all the good pokemon after the 3rd or 4th generation. At this point we have so many characters, that could benefit the meta, but focusing on a story oriented RPG with less characters can give them an opportunity to work on quality, not quantity. Look at any other RPG, there are far less playable characters in others.
>Taking out abilities
Again, making things more intricate doesn't necessarily make the experience better. Look at how simple gen 1 was, but how much of an impact it left on us(who grew up playing it). If your into the meta game you should probably just skip this, but Im interested in how the story will turn out.
I'm not trying to justify the simplification of this game, but I'm going to play it myself to make an opinion, rather than go along with the bandwagon of kids who are freaking out about things being removed even though we complained about the last few generations literally being the same exact experience just with diff mons. I'm actually excited for a new experience, but still somewhat worried. Well see tomorrow.
