Of course, this would require an action oriented combat system so that you could hypothetically solo a titan through sheer determination and dodge skill, so i guess this post is kinda dead on arrival because who wants to open that can of worms?
At that stage, wild encounters serve as detours to avoid, a search for that one pokemon you want, or a field of exp. to farm. Of course, if it's possible to beat a wild titan underleveled, its possible to catch one too. Which may break the game to fuck. Maybe there's just an inherent problem with the sheer scale at which pokemon grow by level that breaks open world as a concept.
Riding pokemon would be amazing in an open world, wouldn't it? Shame we'll never get something of that scale, i guess.
