/vp/ how do you like to make your move slots look? Organize it by type? Usage? Chronologically by when it learns the move?

Stab moves in Third and 3rd slots. Status/non-stab moves in 2nd and 4th. That way if it cannon fodder it only takes 3 button presses to take it out. Other wise If i need to use my brain a bit it takes more so I'm less likely to do the wrong move.

I've created the perfect list order that I've used for years

- HMs always at the bottom, if they have more than 1, then in order as they appear on the official TMs/HMs list
- Set up moves, like Swords Dance, Calm Mind, etc, at the top
- 1st Attack move will the of the Pokemons typing, 2nd, 3rd in order of usage.
- On the off chance that 2 pokemon in my party share the same move, then they share the same slot

An example of a Pokemon in my party now...

Beedrill (Bug/Poison)
Sword Dance
Pin Missile
Poison Jab
Cut

I do it like this, if it's a Water/Dark type, then I put it's Water STAB first and Dark STAB second if it has it, then anything else in the third and fourth slot alphabetically.

Only reason I can imagine is porygon line with conversion. You could have conversion with something like thunderbolt, ice beam and shadow ball with adaptability and a free choice of which type you want to spam in this match.

5. General Status Moves

By power, taking into account STAB. Multi-hit moves are also judged by all the hits they can inflict if it has a fixed amount of hits or the Pokémon has Skill Link.

Status Moves are organized by how useful I find them.

By natures, but I only sort like once every six months so it gets ruined. However I usually have few separate boxes for Battle Frontier-like mons

Attacking moves first, in order of ‘best’ to ‘worst’ as I decide (usually STAB but can be others during play through).
Followed by any status move(s), ordered the opposite way, ie the move I’m most likely to use 4th.

I think competitive sites tend to order the moves in the likely order that the player is to use them when the mon is first switched in.
Like Sneaky Stones and Taunt would likely be used before any attacking moves.
