I wouldn't suggest being that kind of a dick but it's always just a question of how obstinate you're willing to be. Assuming you're not making a scene no one is going to make you leave without one, especially not a manager.
Pro-tip: Never use anyone but the highest manager you can get to. Especially if you're in the right. The lower ones will ALWAYS tell you they can't do it even though they could. They're just told to tell you that because they know most people won't go to that much trouble.
