This game is impossible to play.
Way too fucking slow, everything takes ages from the text speed to the battle animations to the menu transitions to the walk speed.
I can literally feel my time slipping away. And if you speed it up in an emulator the audio gets fucked.

I like to play this game because of the memories it brings me back, but I know it is flawed and many people couldn't like it.

Do you have ADD? Gens 1-2 have the fastest gameplay of all gens. By necessity of the systems they were made for.

I have to agree, before running shoes and setting the bike to select or X, was annoying. You have to walk everywhere. Maybe it's cause I'm 26 and emulators have spoiled me but damn, it's so slow.

I have ADHD and I can play it no problem, it's just slow to me too after playing FR/LG and auto running

playing on the actual gameboy is slower than an emulator. You have to remember that the hardware isn't the best, your computer's processing speed speeds it up slightly.
