Remove fighting type! It has too many strengths, pushed Ice into irrelevance and their designs had no sense whatsoever for the fantasy world of pokemon. They just funny dressed humans and it isn't even a proper element.

Ice represent cold temperature, water represent actual water. They aren't the same and this is a logical distinction.

It literally doesn’t make any sense for ice and water to be the same type.
Take something like Jynx and Vanillite, if there was no proper ice type they would be water type despite not being aquatic or having anything to do with water at all.

vanillite is made of snow, there's no reason it wouldn't be water
that's like saying Claydol and Golurk, pokemon made of Earth, shouldn't share a type with terrestrial or cave-dwelling ground-types like Garchomp and Excadrill
