Yes, because going back to the roots and building up is a jump and they'll totally have a second Kanto game in a row to accomplish that non-jump.

LGP/LGE was their chance to do that. They didn't take it.

I really hope gen 8 doesn't disappoint! I'm not like most who hate gen 7 so I'm hyped until proven otherwise. Lets go let's you skip cutscenes and that was the biggest complaint gen 7 had. Granted gen 7 on switch would be lackluster but for 3ds it was fine.

I'm pretty sure he just meant that gen 8 is more exciting than a half-assed Kanto remake by default. Not that he actually knew anything about the game.
