They might be shit but they're combining the most marketable era of Pokemon, Go, they have a fuck ton of cute, and they're being released in the middle of a first party single player game drought on the Switch. I played that Cyber Sleuth game and it was fucking garbage. Simpler type system than Pokémon, endless intrusive cut scenes that put Sun and Moon to shame, bland looking dungeons with no enemies to fight before bosses except for whatever mobs are there and maybe an armored digimon. People are completely delusional when they praise that garbage and only do so because Pokémon has declined in quality.

I never asked for a localization, I just told the truth and hopefully prevented someone from being interested in a huge waste of time. The dialogue is so jam packed with useless filler and bland characterization that it's nauseating. I recommend anyone curious about this game to actually look at a playthrough and see for yourself just how boring and slow this story is.

The vast majority of the dialogue is done with the characters' models standing in the foreground gesturing to each other as they go back and forth with the background behind them darkened. The other cutscenes play out with the camera and character models behaving pretty normally. This is what a real cutscene is to you. I have no idea what the fuck kind of praise you're lobbing at this by calling it an "actual jrpg cutscene" because that means absolutely nothing. That's the problem with the people who recommend this Digimon trash. They only think about in relation to their spite towards the unfortunate direction Pokémon went in and didn't think critically about ANYTHING else in these shitty games.
