Held items aren't even a thing in the anime. Z-Crystals aren't held, the trainer just inserts the crystal into their Z-Ring and that's it.

Since held items aren't used in the anime, Fling operates differently.

With how sparse Rowlet’s learn pool is, I think the anime gave it seed bomb in an attempt to be nice.
It’s the only grass starter to not have leech seed of all things.
