I never got why US/UM has such a hatred around here.

I get that its tutorial and story can overstay their welcome at points, but the actual game elements are completely fine, and at least they tried to shake up the formula a bit.

This game fucking sucked, from start to finish, 2nd worse experience I've had next to hoenn, HGSS are the best we've ever had and we need gen 8 to bring back all the awesome content those games brought, but in a new region.

Don't be silly anon! They renamed Gyms and made it so you don't battle the totally not a Gym Leader until later in the game if you feel like it. That's totally different.

Story is a bit of a slog (though not really bad it's just there's so fucking much of it) and Alola is a bit hollow compared to other regions but other then that gen VII was fine.

These were decent fun for a playthrough but I couldn't even motivate myself to get to the battle tree in USUM. I replayed Sun twice and I was just done with gen 7 after I did USUM story
