I have the game and don't think it's terrible, but let's not pretend this game isn't easy mode. Nothing made you appreciate Pokemon like Caterpie when all your Pokemon are down and with around 2 HP left your weak ass tackle plus leech seed manage to take down Onix. Bumping your worthless Caterpie up to evolve and giving you a newfound respect for that Pokemon.
Then again I'm 27 not 10 so I guess whatever boomer meme applies here.
