There's no reason Mew couldn't have been included in the actual game. Event Pokemon were always a gimmick designed to get you into the store, but straight-up charging you $50 to """catch""" 'em all is the last straw. Pokemon is at least nominally an RPG, it's time that players are allowed to actually find these Pokemon by exploring the game instead of exploring GameStop with mommy's wallet. At least go the Pokemon Ranger route and offer them as free DLC missions instead of "just buy them" or "just go to GameStop."
