>Starters obtained in an unconventional way and a 4th starter that doesn't fit into the grass/fire/water archetype
>Pokemon following and overworld encounters
>Very few roadblocks, if you get to an area that's too difficult you can get your ass kicked and turn back
>Return of SuMo's full scale models
>Large map so that overworld Pokemon don't feel cramped into tiny areas
>120+ new Pokemon with various other generations thrown in for variety
>Optional sidequests to make the world feel more alive
>Rival isn't a pushover or a sterotypical "Look at me I'm edgy Pokemon are for fighting!" guy
>Story that doesn't impose on your playthrough too much, skippable cutscenes
>Cutscenes show and don't tell.
>Diffuculty scaling (Beginner and Veteran mode, Veteran mode will give gym leaders or their equivalent fuller and more balanced teams as well as scalng trainer levels)
>No shiny locks, if a Pokemon is shiny it should reflect so in cutscenes and the overworld.
>Not a ton of legendaries, make maybe 3 maximum and make them feel relevant. Event Pokemon should have ingame events instead of being given to you.
