Most rivals in reality are fine for the purpose that they serve.
Blue, Silver, Barry, Cheren, and Hugh are all pretty good rivals with varied motivations. Heck even Bianca is a good rival and I appreciate that they gave us two rivals in BW that were completely different but still a fun challenge sometimes.

Great character, unfortunately, he is still way too easy so he doesn't serve his purpose of being the "hard rival"

This loser was only able to inflict damage with Fake Out because the rest of his team died in 1 hit. Add to the fact he fights you way too much with the same awful team and it's really dull

Back during the Black and White days, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, aka Peta, released a parody flash game called Pokemon Black and Blue. It was super short, but entertaining none the less. Hell, I think you can still play it if you look it up on google. If not, Youtube it.
