Honestly; what style do you think GameFreak will go for Gen 8 next year? I get the feeling they were reuse the resources from LGPE becuase they are as we all know, lazy as fuck.

Naturalistic overworld like SMUSUM
They said their goal was to recreate Sugimori's art, so I'm betting the overworld models will look like XY battle models and pokemon will ger their textures redone to have painterly shading like Sugimori's art
They will probably bring back the lineart shader for that (I hope so)

honestly what I wrote is extremely simple, Sun & Moon overworld was the bare minimum, just make it HD
if there's something GF isn't lazy over, is the human sprites, so I expect them to look significanty better than the game as a whole as it has been in all 3D games so far

Let's Go is chibi, SM is also chibi but less. ORAS battle models used in the intro are sightly chibified (every battle model has gigantic heads, feets and hands).
XY is the only game that has had normal proportioned models as the official art but only in battle intro sequences.

When Eevee/Pikachu jump out of the screen at start of LGPE they look a LOT better than in the actual games. I hope Gen 8 looks at least as good. Hope his Promise Comes true. OR I Will demand him to commit Sudoku.

Human characters were pretty damn chibi in the overworld of XY. It's jarring to me to go play Y after Sun since the trainer feels more natural. Did miss being able to sit down & center yourself though.

I know there's an interview somewhere where Masuda talked about Gamefreak staff having a bit of a healthy debate on how realistic they wanted the Pokemon to look in gen 8 so if they're discussing that I can't imagine it looks like LGPE.

Even when I thought it was going to drop in 2018, I was pretty confident they'd deliver a good experience. But since I got btfo, I realised they really do want to make this as good as any of their previous high points and the noises they've been making about it only hammer that home. Considering sales of LGPE will simply enable Gamefreak to continue being lazy fucks, I imagine an extremely limited amount of new gen 8 Pokemon with the Kanto fez taking a good bulk of Pokémon in the regiondex.

It is also safe to assume there will be no nationaldex

Gym leaders will return and not one will have more than 3 Pokémon, Championship battle will probably have 4 Pokémon.

NPC’s will have 1-2 Pokémon each

Because Game Freak have also gone on record saying it will be nothing like LGEP, in terms of mechanics or looks (one thing about Game Freak is they build a new engine for the start of a new Gen on new hardware) and by the simple fact of Switch being the most powerful Nintendo console they've personally worked on, anyone knows it's going to look better than LGEP. Plus not discounting the insider leaks who claim it's drastically better-looking than USM. Really, why would you STILL insist on the opposite, when there's such an actual indication they're speaking true this time?
