This was something I've wanted as a kid honestly, I didn't make sense to me that you wouldn't throw the pokeball when the pokemon is at its weakest and most defenseless

Catching a pokémon is easy as fuck, sure it took me 100 ultra balls to get the damn metang eveytime but it never felt challenging doing so, just a product of a shitty catch rate.
With this system they could make legendaries work like Necrozma and be hard to beat or something, so struggle of just praying to rng becomes an actual struggle.

Catching Metang is not the same as trying to catch a Mewtwo while continuously tanking it's attacks.
With the Go system all you do is throw balls until you get lucky, there's no challenge or skill involved, so what's even the point?

and? thats still terribly implementation. how it should work is the more you injure them the easier they are to catch. you can choose between catching them instantly or making it easier for yourself by battling.

What if they improve the catching by making it more like some lightgun game with a travel distance delay on the ball, no RNG on the catch, and the Pokemon moves around a lot more to make it challenging? You reduce its HP to make it move slower and better balls travel faster or have some special feature such as homing or a larger hitbox. You could also arc or curve the shot to get around obstacles or attacks. I know they won't do this because it's too much work though.

Yeah, cos that's fucking retarded. Even if it makes sense logically, most of the challenge of catching a Pokémon is NOT knocking it out.

The only good thing about LGPE is overworld models replacing random encounters, but the map is so tiny and archaic that the Pokémon are overcrowded and it’s hard to actually engage the one you want. What could have been a good chance feels arbitrary and half-assed, like everything this shit company does.

Wild battles add a risk/reward system to the rpg system. Do you battle for exp and stat points, take damage to catch the mon, or run to save your HP and PP for trainer battles?

Without them the risk is almost non-existent, where the only thing you worry about is running out of pokeballs. The game is a lot more arcade-like as a result.

Simple. Those Pokemon you catch after your first catch have to be instacandied. You'd need to catch them anyways, you barely get any xp from trainer battles, so might as well adapt the Nuzlocke rules to be "First Pokemon that spawns is your first catch, any catches past that are just for xp and you send them to oak, candies get sold or thrown out"
