Everything from the start to the end of DPP was solid (except Emerald).
Didn’t read BW so I can’t comment on that but everything I’ve heard about where things have gone since has sounded fucking awful. Struggling to keep up with the now-annual release of games seems to have been a big part of it. Games are apparently left with unfinished arcs or just sort of skipped over, and the stories themselves sound terrible. Tried to read HGSS but it started with a long boring slog of a sports festival story and I couldn’t bear it.
Although I did read ORAS cause RS was my favorite arc, and while it was a bit of a mess with a few dumb parts it was actually still a fun read. Also gave the main characters an end to their arc as a pair that they didn’t originally have, so it was really nice to get closure for them.
Actually now I’m curious as to if/how LGBT will get adapted.
