Starting a fresh run of one of the classics. Which of these three should I do? Anons pick the game and the rules for my playthrough. Unhacked VC so nothing that requires editing/altering the base game.

No reason to play Silver when VCrystal and SoulSilver exist unless you really want an obsolete retro experience. So definitely one of the other two.

Play Yellow, but you're forced to use Pikachu, Pidgeotto, Butterfree, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charizard for the entire game.

Reason would be the spritework. Don't do >>37044619, it only gets Mud Slap for STAB from Falkner until the League when it can get EQ, was either that or Pewter, I forget.

Do Silver, the sprites in Gold/Silver have much more charm (I personally prefer Silver between the two) than Crystal. It's not only the poses, but you get stuff like Sneasel with its original coloration.

Ho-oh is annoying as fuck to get in Crystal, and if you get it in soulsilver it has its shitty ability.
Well, at least if you plan to use the pokemon on other games as well and not only play the games for the story
