In a vacuum LGPE would be perfectly fine with me, I’d even buy it. But I am just deeply afraid that these games will define the direction of all future games. I’d rather Pokémon be a game simple enough for a casual audience but deep enough for there to be more to find with dedication. The less depth and complexity the series has, the more I worry. That’s it.

Maybe look at it from our perspective. We don't want LGPE to change the direction of the games and it's not hard to understand the bitterness because we've been the ones giving Gamefreak money and then they make a complete 180 "fuck you" to get money from a mobile game. I feel like people who like the game lack a sense of perspective.

gamefreak has been continuously pushing the boundaries in regards to how lazy they can be with a game, and they finally got ballsy enough to warrent a reaction

people arent leaving these reviews because they're immature fucking children, they're genuinely afraid for the future of a franchise they love and they have literally no other way to get that point across effectively. they know that gamefreak could very well use these games as the standard going forward and it scares them.

it doesnt even matter that a 2019 pokemon game is coming out thats more "standardized" because standard to gamefreak could mean something entirely different than what the consumer wants it to mean.

how anyone can just dismiss the blatant cry for help from the people seeing the franchise turn into something they wont want as mere crying or trolling is beyond me.

I know full fucking well the same people saying "Your game is coming next year stop being entitled, this won't affect anything" will say the same damn thing if this game does have a negative impact on future entries. Just because we don't like being taken advantage of and expect actual quality and effort put in their work (or anyone's work for that matter) doesn't make us entitled. I think these people are the ones that need to grow up.

I don't understand. We knew heading towards release of this game how many features and gameplay choices would be omitted. Sure the price of the game isn't warranted but we knew what were getting. Just don't buy the game, cry about it, and wait for the real pokemon experience next year.
