Nah, some of the good shit is still there. It's got the psychical/special split. Reusable TMs. Movesets from level-up are way better than they were in FRLG.

The game as a whole is Kanto rehashed, with features TAKEN OUT. The "cool shit" if you mean rideable pokemon, gym leader rematches, and pokemon in the overworld,
those features should have been in previous games in the first place.
If you're telling me to look at "the games as a whole" it is an objective downgrade to a pair of games that came out in 2004. Taking out core features like wild pokemon battles, abilities, and held items is completely unnecessary. It also retcons the Sevii islands just cause.
Most importantly all this and it's price is of a triple-a title, it might as well be scam/shitware.

Are you seriously saying Let's Go is better than Fire Red/Leaf Green? This better be bait, but I'll bite anyways.
You are aware that FR/LG still has the basic features like held items, and abilties, that Let's Go retcons cause why not. It also doesn't goddamn lag in the overworld, and keep in mind Game Freak is notoriously incompetent. Don't downplay Sevii islands, since they were an additional side story to the main game, and were at least a good 10+ hours of post game content, and at least you could capture Johto Pokemon in said post game.
Keep in mind this is back in 2004, Let's Go came out this year, and lacks the basic features, and content that a remake on the GBA had.
All for €40 EUR/$60 USD/$80 CAD.

Oh and FR/LG has actual replayability, Let's Go does not have the same value, due to the GO style of capturing and requirements for the gyms, along with removal of basic features.

For their prices, Yellow is leagues better than LGBT. You save $50 alone by buying Yellow on the Virtual Console, still have the Safari Zone, the Game Corner having games, and no hand holding, at the cost of Physical/Special Split and the Meltan Line.

Might be me getting out of Pokemon, but I played it, and I didn't really enjoy as much as I expected. Yeah, rideable Pokemon and rematching gym leaders are a cool feature and I hope they return for gen 8, but other than that, it felt like I was playing something of the same quality of ORAS for a remake.

like I said, it might just be me, but I enjoyed FRLG more than LGPE.

Yeah I mean it’s a refreshing change to the series. No more grinding wild pokemon, candies given directly to you. Pokemon Company finally removed all the clutter from the game and worked on real mechanics, rather than a luck based game. Its nice to see a game that managed to remove tediousness and add interesting gameplay.

I'd have zero problem with Let's Go if they were actually sold at a lower price, but I'll forgive it either way if I like Gen 8 since I know the games meant easy money for GF
