>>37090665I understand it but I also hate it. RNG in light doses can be exciting, you never know what you're going to get. It's always exciting to see a shiny appear and it can feel intense when you've been trying to catch a pokemon and you've made it to your 3rd shake.
Where RNG pisses me off is IVs and Breeding. The developers said it's to differentiate pokemon from each other but EVs already do that and they are player controlled. There's no way of knowing if the pokemon you caught is a genetic retard or the ubermench. Put too pidgey's next to each other and the only difference between them is that one is objectively worse. Their moves are the same, their base stats are the same, but one will either do less damage, move slower, or die easier. There's no reason to EVER not want max IVs in everything unless you're running Trick Room Stakataka. Natures was an idea I liked until I found out what they did, I thought maybe it was a way of injecting personality into your team of bros. But it's not, it loops back into the numbers. You might get an Alakazam with a nature that boosts its physical attack but it has no use for that. It's something that makes it objectively worse than every other Alakazam.
