I had fun too anon. And now imagine you would still be having fun if gamefreak actually made a good Pokemon game with ALL the features from all past generations plus the new content.
You would STILL be having fun instead of already being done with the game, not even a full week after release.
And now imagine this never coming true because less effort means more money for gamefreak.

Contrary to popular belief though, I do expect Gamefreak to treat this is a spin-off and not carry things over to the main games for better or worse (I'm gonna miss overworld Pokemon running around). It's not like they ever carry over the good features between games they'd consider mainline anyway.

USUM might have shit post-game too but Im still playing online with over 3 boxes worth of teams. You just cant do that with lgpe with the small amount of fully evolved pokemon it has

so something that actually adds an element of skill rather than being complete rng is tedious complexity? unless you're catching something with a bullshit catch rate like a skarmory, catching pokemon isn't particularly hard, but it adds another element to the game other than just buttonmashing through the trainer battles. but sure let's just implement something which basically has you aimlessly throw balls with no rhyme or rhythm til it works rather than sticking to the mechanics we've build up over the last 2 decades because it works for our f2p mobile game. that's just poor game design

Hey, I'm a busy guy with a wife and a blog and tons of twitter users to follow, not to mention all the superhero/Star Wars/Disney swill I have to consume en masse. I have to keep up on the latest memes and stay active on social media, so who has time to actually play a real video game these days? A stripped-down game for babies like Pokemon Let's Go! makes it possible for me to still proudly claim to be a supporter of the Pokemon franchise while investing the absolute least amount of attention, interest and effort, so fuck you assholes who are willing to commit to anything with more than one brain cell at a time! You're idiots, get with the times!
