It isn't like buying a nintendo console in general is a negative for them. You will get a mario, zelda and whatever else on top so it isn't a hard sell. 3DS launch price wasn't even that far off, along with Christmas presents as well. Getting the console if you really want it is no hardship here.
Nothing is stopping LGPE having a bigger launch but the game itself.
