>>37054862So... highly subjective and pointless reasons? The map was weak, but has it ever been a strong point in Pokemon games? Has it ever even been a selling point? There was still plenty to see and do and areas were large and with many diverging routes within them. I'd argue the only generation that ups Gen 5 in terms of both map layout AND route quality was 4. Is this where that "Hurrrr, it's just a big circle" meme comes into play? Because it completely ignores that while the map may be a big circle, there's lots more to do in that circle. And really with all the new areas in BW2, the "circle" only accounts for half the map.
>unpopular Pokemon designsI quite liked a lot of the Pokemon designs. I thought it was one of the best regional dexes ever, partly because it was designed to stand on its own. I like how a lot of Pokemon were clearly meant to be counterparts of Gen 1 monsters, but without being complete copypastas. Shit like Golurk, Galvantula, Lilligant, Carracosta, Scrafty and Crustle are still some of my all-time favorite Pokemon designs.
>no postgameEh. Not a major loss, given that it clearly had more work put into the main game than most previous entries. And the sequels offered some of the best postgame in the series, as well as changing the main quest enough to actually make it worth playing again.
>moving sprites look weirdThis is highly superfluous, and even more highly subjective. I was fine with the pixelation as the price for actual movement.
