Also, no it isn't. The series has been in decline since XY started massive pandering, very low standards for trainer battles and hallway-tier exploration. Granted, XY was better than what came after them regarding overall quality.
The only thing that can save the franchise from falling for the "this generation is retarded and our games should be as retarded as they are" and sealing its fate is massive critic success for the next gen games, both from new and old players.
