>>37062763Games are selling extremely well globally
Rated highly among critics and players (even some sceptics)
I dont have to defend anything but Ill bite and address the only points you made that arent subjective/opinions
>Third gen 1 remakeSure I guess, but its also the furthest deviation we have had in terms of remake, making FR/LG look like a straight port with a coat of paint by comparison
>Animations are barebonesmostly only true in the overworld which was a let down, but some of the attack animations, and the (skipable) cutscenes were among the best we have had
>Incredibly easyPokemon games are as easy as you make them. You dont have to use the title starter, you dont have to switch when your opponents faints, you dont have to use type effective moves. You can go into every fight under levelled if you really want.
>Friendly rivalThis is a subjective one but I wanted to touch it anyway. Sure, hes friendly, he also gets frustrated at being constantly in your shadow. Hes a rival, a motivating force, someone to motivate you along your journey not an antagonist like silver or N
>Game always holds your handSome level of guidance is to be expected, these are titles meant to be accessible to everyone. That said not all of the gym requirements were entirely about making the game easier.
Surge required you to get cut from the ship, which doesnt help with his gym in any way and you can skip virtually every trainer on there except your rival and you still had to deal with the switch puzzle
Koga requires you to have 50 different species registered in your pokedex, which isnt particularly hard but does prevent you from just steamrolling everything with just 1-2 pokemon
Blane has you answer a quiz with questions a veteran player may see as easy, but a new player may not be so familiar with, wearing your pokemon down if you get a question wrong with no opportunities to rest between battles.
thats not even touching on the things they listened to fans about
